Pillion rider killed by truck in Hadapsar

Pune: In a hit-and-run case, a woman riding pillion on a motorcycle was hit by a truck under the jurisdiction of Hadapsar police station.

The mishap took place at Phursungi Railway Bridge on Saswad–Hadapsar road on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Genu Kamble (35), a resident of Hadapsar.

She was riding pillion with her husband Vilas Kamble (42) at the time of mishap.

The police arrested truck driver Sagar Jadhav (28), a resident of Solapur.

According to the Hadapsar police, Jadhav was driving recklessly and he could not control the truck and hit the motorcycle of the couple from behind.

After this, he sped away.

The police registered a case under section 304A against Jadhav.
