PIMPRI: There was lukewarm response in Pimpri Chinchwad for the Maharashtra Bandh called on Friday by the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), to protest against implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) in the country.

A majority of the shops and commercial establishments remained open as usual although many shops in Pimpri Camp, Chinchwad and a few other areas were closed for some period of the day.

Morchas were organised in Bhosari, Pimpri Camp and some other areas. The appeal for the bandh was issued by Prakash Ambedkar, President of the VBA.
