PUNE: Maharashtra Rajya Prathamik Shikshak Sangh, Pune city (an organisation of primary teachers) has asked Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol to look into the pending problems faced by teachers at schools run by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Their demands include implementation of Seventh Pay Commission for teachers, recruitment of more shikshak sevaks, and pending promotion and pension issues amongst others.

While congratulating the Mayor on approving Seventh Pay Commission for the PMC employees, Sachin Dimble of the Association pointed out that the teachers had not yet been included in the same.

“Despite several requests, the order for the same has not yet been passed. We also have several other pending issues that have not been resolved. The situation has been the same since the Shikshan Mandal of PMC was dissolved a couple of years ago. We need the PMC to take cognizance of the issues faced by the PMC school teachers, and proactively work on finding solutions,” Dimble said.
