PMRDA begins razing illegal constructions

Sakal Times

Pune: Officials of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have started razing unauthorised constructions in PMRDA region, which have come up after December 31, 2015.

The PMRDA has given a deadline of June 21 to regularise unauthorised constructions built before December 31, 2015.
However, owners of such constructions need to apply for regularisation of these structures along with necessary documents, to the PMRDA. Officials of PMRDA said work on razing more than 1,000 such structures has started in areas like Wagholi, Hinjawadi, Marunji and others.

On Saturday, PMRDA officials demolished a 21,000 sq ft structure in Marunji Budruk. The officials said the building was owned by S Reddy and V Pomgatti. The owners of the illegal construction site were given notification about the action by PMRDA. Following the massive rise in such constructions, PMRDA chief Kiran Gitte said people should be alert while investing in such construction sites, as they may lose their money.
