Police get nod to auction vehicles of DS Kulkarni

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: A Special Court has allowed Pune city police to auction 11 vehicles including four-wheelers seized from builder DS Kulkarni and his relatives in connection with the cheating case.

The vehicles are worth over Rs five crore.

As the vehicles were parked at Shivajinagar police station for several months, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch which is investigating the case, had filed the application before the court, seeking permission to auction the vehicles.

The vehicles include two BMWs, one Porsche and one MV Augusta motorcycle.

Pune police have already filed a charge sheet against DS Kulkarni, also known as DSK, his wife and others for allegedly cheating 33,000 depositors and investors of nearly Rs 2,043.18 crore.

The EOW investigated the case since October 2017, when the first depositor Jitendra Mulekar (56) approached Shivajinagar police station.
