Police seize 11 motorbikes for noise pollution

Pune: The Hadapsar police have taken action against motorbikes for noise pollution on Saturday.

The drive was conducted with the help of Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune.

The police and RTO seized 11 Bullet bikes and collected Rs 21,600 as fine.

“The Hadapsar police had done nakabandi at Gopalpatti, Manjari between 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. During the nakabandi, 11 bikers passed through the route. The silencer was modified and they were honking in ‘no horn zone.’ They disturbed the peaceful atmosphere of the area so the bikes have been seized,” said Sanjay Rout, Deputy RTO, Pune.

“The action has been taken under the Motor Vehicle Act and Rs 21,600 fine was collected from them. The action will be taken in the future also,” said Rout.

The drive was undertaken by Vishnu Pawar, Senior PI, MA Doke, PSI of Hadapsar police station and Amar Singh Gaware, Motor Vehicles Inspector were present during the drive.
