Pune: Prajit Nair Takes Charge as Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate) at Municipal Corporation

2017-batch IAS officer brings administrative experience, aims to strengthen civic functioning in Pune Municipal Corporation

Pune, 4th April 2026: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Prajit Nair on Friday assumed charge as the Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate) of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). He formally took over responsibilities at the civic headquarters.

A 2017-batch IAS officer, Nair has served in several important administrative roles across Maharashtra. Prior to this appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad.

During his career, he has also worked as Sub-Divisional Officer at Jawhar in Palghar district and later as the District Collector of Gondia, gaining experience in both rural and district-level governance.

After assuming charge, Nair said he will focus on introducing new initiatives to improve civic administration and support the overall development of Pune.
