Pre-Owned Car Market Booms In Automotive Slowdown

PUNE: As many as 250 pre-owned car dealers from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have come together to form ‘The Used Car Dealers Association’ which will be inaugurated on September 27 at Residency Club. 

The used car markets has been booming, when the domestic automotive industry has been battling one of its worst sales. Several emission norms, stricter regulation and many other factors have affected the sale of new cars.

But, the sales of pre-owned cars have increased. President of the Used Car Dealers Association Vinod Ahir said, “Changing consumer preferences due to changing policy in automotive industry lead many to discard old cars and buy new vehicles”.

The association will offer easy finance option at an attractive interest rate, to buy used cars. It will provide maximum option under one roof to consumers.
Vice-President of the association Sachin Sakore said, “Consumer spending is on the decline, but they do not want to compromise with their aspirations at the same time. Consumers’ taste changes every time and hence, used car markets fulfil the consumers’ aspirations.”

Commissioner of Police K Venkatesham will chair the inaugural ceremony. UCDAP, a used car association, will provide ‘Autokatta’ an online platform to the consumer to sell their cars in total transparency.
