Processions of Goddess Chatuhshrungi and Tambadi Jogeshwari today

PUNE: The processions of Goddesses Chatuhshrungi and Tambadi Jogeshwari will be taken out on Thursday on the occasion of Dussehra. The processions will be carried out in tight security and will cause less traffic issues.

Like every year, this year also the procession of Goddess Chatuhshrungi will be taken out in a grand manner. Suhas Angal, President of Chatuhshrungi Mandir Trust, said, “The procession will begin at 5 pm and at 6 pm, a helicopter will shower flowers on the procession at the temple entrance. The procession will be carried out in a chariot. Traditional instruments, including dhol-tasha, lezim, nagara-chaughada will be played. The procession will be carried from the temple to the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and from SPPU again to the temple. The procession will end around 9 pm.”

“There will be private security along with police, home guards, police mitra and volunteers of the temple to take care of the traffic situations. The niramlyla will be collected by Green Whils Group after the procession and will be converted into manure. There will be ambulance and fire brigade van as well,” Angal added

Similarly, the procession of village deity, i.e of Goddess Tambadi Jogeshwari will be started out from 10 am. Rajesh Tikar, President of Tambadi Jogeshwari, said, “The procession route will be from Budhwar Chowk – Belbagh Chowk – Rameshwar Chowk and then will be heading towards Mahatma Phule Mandai to Shanipar Chowk to Vishrambaug Wada and from Appa Balwant Chowk the procession will commence at 12 pm at the Tambadi Jogeshwari temple.”

“The procession will be accompanied by Sathis Adhav for Nagada, new Gandharva Brass Band, Samarth Dhol Tasha Pathak will be there along with Shiv Mudra Dhol Tasha Pathak and the volunteers of the mandal will also participate in the procession,” Tikar added.
