PSCDCL gets award for communication technology

Pune: Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) has received a national level award for the Best Information and Communication Technology (ICT) implementation in a Smart City at Business World and 4th Digital India Summit and Awards.

The ceremony of Business World Digital India Summit and Awards 2018 was organised in New Delhi on Saturday.

The municipal commissioner, Bhopal, chief officers from New Delhi Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad, Assam, Tamil Nadu, President YES Bank, and Director NBU, Google were among the other chief guests who were a part of the panel discussion.
Manojit Bose, Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) of PSCDCL received the award trophy on behalf of Pune Smart City and Chief Executive officer (CEO) of PSCDCL Dr Rajendra Jagtap.

Dr Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, PSCDCL said, “Urbanisation will be one of the biggest megatrends globally in the next 
30 years.Pune Smart City has already marched towards enhancing liveability of the city. Such accolades like receiving the Best ICT Implementation award would certainly motivate and encourage us to work more vigorously and with 
enthusiasm”.

Bose said, “Pune Smart City has been at the forefront of leveraging new age technologies and capabilities to build upon the IT investments being made in the city”.

Pune holds an important place for both Maharashtra and India and is one of the cities selected in the Smart Cities challenge. 

Such awards hold importance and prominence because smart cities are expected to adopt data driven approach under Smart City Mission. Smart City technologies make cities more manageable and more personal by deploying monitoring capabilities.
