The recruitment includes 1,733 police constable posts, 105 driver posts, 33 bandmen posts, and 130 jail warder posts. Online applications were initially open till November 30 but were later extended to December 7. Among all posts, the jail warder category received the highest number of applications at 90,791, followed by 86,240 for police constables and 42,896 for driver posts.

The recruitment process will be conducted simultaneously across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Candidates who have applied for multiple locations for the constable post will have to choose only one city for the selection process.

After verification of applications, eligible candidates will be informed through email, following which the final list will be announced.

The selection process will include physical tests such as height, chest measurement, and running, followed by a written examination and document verification. Candidates applying for driver posts will also have to undergo a driving skill test. The recruitment for jail warder posts will be conducted by the Pune Police itself.

Pune Police officials have stated that the recruitment process will be conducted in a fully transparent manner, with CCTV cameras and video recording systems installed at all testing centres.

Candidates have been warned not to fall prey to false promises or fraudulent agents and to report any malpractice to the Police Commissioner’s Office or the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

But due to the upcoming local body elections, candidates are keenly waiting for clarity on when the next phase of the recruitment process will begin.
