Pune, 21st July 2026: A 20-year-old college student has accused four persons, including a juvenile, of repeatedly sexually assaulting her after she became acquainted with one of the accused through friendship.
Following her complaint, Wagholi Police have registered a case and arrested three accused, while a juvenile has been taken into custody.
The arrested accused have been identified as Farhan Rizwan Shaikh (20), Fazal Shaikh (20), both residents of Mundhwa, and Sahil Dindore (20), a resident of Viman Nagar. A juvenile has also been detained in connection with the case.
According to police, the survivor met Farhan while studying in college in 2024, and the two later stayed in touch through social media. In November 2025, Farhan allegedly called her to a private hostel in Wagholi, where he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
The complaint further states that Farhan later took her to different locations in Wagholi, Kharadi and Viman Nagar, where his three associates also allegedly sexually assaulted her on separate occasions.
After the incidents, the survivor stopped communicating with Farhan. However, police said he allegedly threatened to leak her explicit photographs on social media if she refused to meet him, and used the threat to continue sexually assaulting her.
Unable to bear the prolonged mental trauma, the woman finally approached the Airport Police Station. Since the offences fell under the jurisdiction of Wagholi Police Station, the case was transferred there for further investigation.
