Pune-Daund local train to resume; know how to avail e-pass for travel

The local train service between Pune and Daund will be re-starting from October 20

Pune: The local train service between Pune and Daund will be re-starting from October 20 (Tuesday). This service will initially be restricted for persons engaged in essential services. Pune police has proposed to resume this service and have accordingly contacted the Pune Municipal Corporation and other government departments regarding this.

Business activities are returning to normalcy after the unlock phases were implemented in the city after the necessary permissions from state government were obtained. However, most of the citizens are facing problems while commuting from their home to office and vice versa. Especially, people engaged in the essential services are facing this problem on a large scale.

In order to remove this inconvenience of essential services personnel, the local train service between Pune and Daund will be starting soon. A meeting of concerned officials was conducted recently regarding this.

LOCAL TRAIN TIMINGS

• Pune to Daund: 6 am and 5.30pm

• Daund to Pune: 7.45 am and 7.15 pm

Personnel engaged in essential services and those willing to travel by this local train should register for the online police pass which is mandatory while travelling in trains.

How to get an e-pass

• Visit www.punepolice.gov.in

• Submit all information, letter from your office, identity card, photo and fitness certificate

• Personnel from Police Commissionerate Office will verify your application

• A QR Code based police pass will be issued to the applicant
