Pune: Home isolation guidelines for asymptomatic persons

ST Staff

Pune: As per the Maharashtra state administration’s guidelines, coronavirus positive patients showing mild symptoms can practice home isolation instead of getting admitted in hospitals. The Pune district administration declared guidelines for home isolation of asymptomatic coronavirus patients. Such patients will have to sign an affidavit that has been delivered along with the circular on guidelines.

Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar said, "There is a government decision dated June 6 on home isolation of asymptomatic patients. As per the decision, we have given permission for home isolation for such patients and issued detailed guidelines.”

The COVID-19 positive person must stay in his room only. The kits used by him for eating or any other purpose should be very clean. Even the clothes and all equipment used by the positive individual should be cleaned regularly.

When he was asked about testing, he said, "We are currently doing 2,000 to 2,500 tests every day and we are planning to increase it to 5,000. This is possible because the National Institute of Virology is changing its testing process and bringing some improvements because of which testing capacity will increase."
