Pune: Khadki police seize 46 LPG cylinders; FIR against 4 for selling at higher price

PUNE: The Khadki police station officials seized 46 LPG cylinders on Thursday and nabbed two persons who were selling it for a higher price.

Based on a complaint from PSI Amol Bhosale, an FIR has been registered against the two delivery persons Narendra Thakur (31), Vijay Mudliyar (46) in addition to Shrinath Gas Agency's owner Shrikant Patil (51) and manager Rushikesh Bhopatkar. They have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Essential Commodities Act.

According to police, the incident took place around 11.35 am near Chhajed Petrol Pump on Bhau Patil Road, Bopodi. The salesmen had brought the cylinders in two tempos and were selling them on the road. They charged Rs 1200 instead of Rs 790, which is the actual price.

Police have seized 46 LPG cylinders of Bharat Gas Company, two tempos worth Rs 60,000 and Rs 1200 cash.

Police Inspector (crime) Shafil Pathan is further investigating the case.
