Pune: MBBS student from BJ Medical College runs away from father fearing failure in final year exam

Pune: A final year MBBS student from B J Medical College suddenly disappeared from the city while he was paying obeisance to Lord Ganesh… He was not prepared for the examination scheduled in a few days… His father had come from Mumbai to Pune to give him support, but fearing failure in the examination, the student decided to run away from his family and city... Fortunately, police could track him in Lonavala and was brought back and handed over to his family within a few hours of his disappearance.

Originally from Mumbai, 24-year-old Aadesh (name changed) lives in a hostel. He was under tremendous stress as he was underprepared for the examinations. Meanwhile, his father came from Mumbai to visit him and the two met on August 30 afternoon. After that they went out to pay obeisance to Lord Ganesh. While taking darshan, Aadesh left his father and fled from the spot.

Aadesh’s father immediately approached the nearby Faraskhana police station and filed a missing report about his son. Police too swung into action and looked at CCTV camera footage in the vicinity and other parts of the city to search for him. Meanwhile, his mobile location was traced near Sangam Bridge. So the police team rushed to the spot but only his mobile handset was found.

Fire Brigade personnel were called in and the entire riverbed was scanned for several hours to locate Aadesh. Finally, police personnel Sayaji Chavan and Akash Valmiki decided to check the CCTV footage in and around Sangam Bridge area. While they were watching the CCTV footage Aadesh was seen walking towards Bopodi.

Police traced and took him in custody at Lonavala and handed him over to his father. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, Senior Police Inspector Jagannath Kalaskar, Police Inspector Dadasaheb Gaikwad, a team of Police Sub Inspector Yashpal Suryavanshi police personnel Sachin Sarpale, Bapu Khutwad, Ganesh Atole, Dinesh Bhandurge and Mohan Dalvi took part in the search operation.
