According to the police, the room was locked from the inside. Pawar, who hailed from Milindnagar in Mehkar, Buldhana district, had shifted to Pune two months ago to prepare for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations. He was living alone in the room where his body was discovered.

Initial investigations suggest that Pawar may have taken the extreme step due to exam-related stress and depression. However, officers said that a clear motive can be confirmed only after speaking to his family members. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot so far.

Police reached the location immediately after receiving a call from the control room. A spot panchnama was conducted, and the body was sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem. Vishrambaug Police have registered a case of accidental death and are conducting further inquiries.
