Pune, 18th July 2026: Pune Police's Zone I has successfully recovered 158 lost mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and returned them to their rightful owners, bringing relief to several citizens.
The recovery drive covered the jurisdictions of Khadak, Samarth, Faraskhana, Vishrambaug, Shivajinagar, and Deccan police stations. Citizens had reported their missing phones through the CEIR portal, enabling police teams to trace the devices efficiently.
To speed up the recovery process, Deputy Commissioner of Police Hrishikesh Rawale held a review meeting with senior inspectors and officers from all six police stations. Following the meeting, dedicated police teams launched a coordinated search operation that resulted in the recovery of 158 mobile phones.
Among the police stations, Deccan Police recovered 60 phones, followed by Samarth (35), Shivajinagar (27), Khadak (18), Vishrambaug (14) and Faraskhana (4).
The recovered mobile phones were returned to their owners during a program held at Vishrambaug Police Station on Friday. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Sanjay Darade, Additional Commissioner Rajesh Bansode, and DCP Hrishikesh Rawale.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Sachin Hire, along with police inspectors and personnel from Zone I, attended the programme where citizens received their recovered devices. The initiative highlighted the effectiveness of the CEIR portal in helping police trace lost mobile phones and reunite them with their owners.
