Pune: Doctors on COVID-19 duty – frontline workers are risking their lives and working round the clock in the pandemic are complaining of non-payment or partial payment of salaries. Despite a number of letters and resignation given to Maharashtra's state government, the government has not come up with the solution. 

Now the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) doctors have decided to launch a strike against the government. The decision for the same was taken at a meeting of the State Committee of Doctors RBSK Association on Google Meet on Tuesday.

The agitation will commence with a one-day non-cooperation movement in this month. No doctors will work on August 17. Before that, Thursday onwards all the teams working in the districts and talukas will jointly prepare a statement, in which their problems, questions, demands will be written and finally all doctors will go on a collective non-cooperation movement on August 17 and note that they will all be absent on that day.

On the August 17, the doctors will not be present at work but all of the doctors will gather in front of the district collector's office in the respective district, wearing an apron and mask holding a silent demonstration there. The delegation will meet to concern District Collector's office of each district in Maharashtra to raise their demands.
