Pune: Three dead, several injured in two separate accidents

Pune on Monday woke up to two shocking accidents on Mumbai-Pune Expressway where three people lost their lives

Pune: Three people were killed and several were injured in two separate road accidents in Pune on Monday.

One of the accidents took place near Ravet on Pune-Mumbai Expressway on the early hours of Monday when a private bus, heading towards Mumbai, rammed into a truck from its rear side. One passenger was killed and eight others were left injured while three members from the truck were injured too. All the injured were shifted to a hospital.

The deceased is been identified as Bajrang Gaikwad (age 35). Out of 8 injured passengers, 6 have been admitted to Aundh Hospital while 2 passengers are in private hospital. A private travels company bus was going from Udgir to Mumbai. At around 4 in the morning, a bus and a freight truck met with a tragic accident.

In another accident, two people died and three people were injured when two trucks completely charred in a head-on collision near Narhe on Monday.

According to the information received, a truck (MH 12 PQ 8736) was passing through Katraj tunnel when it reached ‘I Love Narhe Selfie Point’ at Narhe, it was hit from behind by a speeding freight truck (MH.18.AA.6681). The front part of the trucks was badly damaged, leaving the driver and three others stranded. Meanwhile, two died on the spot while one was critically injured. The bodies were trapped and taken to the hospital. Police, fire brigade rushed to the spot and pulled out the trapped bodies.
