Pune, 18th July 2026: Traffic movement across central parts of the city will be diverted on Sunday (July 19) as ISKCON Pune takes out its annual Jagannath Rath Yatra. The Pune Traffic Police have announced diversions and temporary route changes between 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare said motorists should follow the designated diversion routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to avoid delays and congestion.
The procession will begin from S.P. College and proceed via Lokmanya Tilak Road, Puram Chowk, Bajirao Road, Shanipar Chowk, Nagarkar Talim Chowk, Shagun Chowk, Ramanbaug Chowk, Omkareshwar Temple, Balgandharva, Jangli Maharaj Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk and Alka Talkies Chowk, before returning to S.P. College through Tilak Road.
Traffic diversions will be implemented as the procession moves through different parts of the city.
Vehicles travelling from Alka Chowk towards Swargate via Tilak Road should use Lal Bahadur Shastri Road, Senadatt Chowk and Mangirbaba Chowk.
Motorists travelling from Puram Chowk towards Deccan should use Bajirao Road instead of Tilak Road.
During the procession on Bajirao Road, vehicles heading from Puram Chowk to Shivajinagar will be diverted via Tilak Road and Alka Chowk.
When the procession reaches Laxmi Road, traffic from Belbag Chowk towards Tilak Chowk should travel via Sevasadan Chowk, Appa Balwant Chowk and Shaniwar Wada.
While the procession passes between Shagun Chowk and Omkareshwar Bridge, commuters are advised to use the Riverside Road and other available alternate routes.
The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to avoid the procession route wherever possible, plan their journeys in advance and use the notified diversion routes to help ensure the smooth conduct of the Jagannath Rath Yatra.
