Pune: Vadgaonsheri MLA Sunil Tingre tests positive for COVID-19

Pune: Sunil Tingre, Member of Legislative Assembly from Vadgaonsheri Assembly, Pune tested positive for the novel coronavirus. From past few days, he was suffering from fever. After undergoing the test of COVID-19, the NCP leader was tested positive on Wednesday. He confirmed the news on his social media handle.

Tingre on his Twitter handle said, “On noticing initial symptoms, I have tested positive for #COVID19. My symptoms are mild, but I have been hospitalized as a precaution. I request all those who have come in contact with me in the last few days to be extra vigilant of symptoms and self-isolate as a precaution.”

Many political leaders from Pune were tested positive for the contagion. Recently, the former MP (Member of Parliament) of Pune Anil Shirole too found positive for the contagion. BJP leader and Mayor of Pune Murlidhar Mohol, BJP leader from Daund Rahul Kul are some of them. Meanwhile, former Mayor of Pune Datta Ekbote succumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday. Ekbote aged 84 was cremated at Koregaon Park Crematorium.
