Pune: Woman accuses police inspector of physical exploitation

Pune: A shocking incident has come to light after a 50-year-old woman from Hadapsar lodged an FIR on Wednesday accusing an inspector posted Regional Police Training School (RPTS) in Solapur of physical exploitation.

A case has been registered against the senior police inspector Chandrakant Bhagwanrao Mane in this regard. The incident came to light when victim has lodged a complaint at Samarth police station which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city police commissionerate.

According to police officials, “Senior Police Inspector Mane is currently posted at the Regional Police Training School at Solapur. Mane was posted in Pune when he met the victim. Mane took the woman to a house in the police colony in the police colony in Bhavani Peth. The victim claims that she was given a sedative from a soft drink and then Mane raped the woman.”

“Mane threatened the woman by filming her mobile. Mane raped the woman again, threatening to make the objectionable video viral. He threatened that if she lodged a complaint with the police station, she would have to bear the consequences and would face serious consequences. Frightened by Mane's threats, the woman finally ran to the Samarth police station and lodged a complaint,” they added. The matter is being investigated by Samarth police.”
