Pune: Puneri Metro Line 3 will introduce an integrated ticketing system offering multiple digital and physical ticketing options when passenger services begin, according to project officials.

The corridor's Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system will support the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), mobile app-based ticketing, QR tickets through WhatsApp, Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and manual ticket counters at every station.

In the first phase, AFC gates have been installed at the 12 stations scheduled to become operational. Each station will have five gates, including one wider gate for differently abled passengers. The system is designed to regulate passenger movement during peak hours and reduce congestion.

In line with the Government of India's 'One Nation One Card' initiative, Line 3 will support the National Common Mobility Card, enabling commuters to use the same card on Metro Line 3, Pune Metro Lines 1 and 2, and other compatible metro networks across the country.

Passengers will also be able to book tickets through the existing Pune Metro mobile application. Initially, Line 3 ticketing will operate separately from Maha Metro's Lines 1 and 2. Following the planned integration of the three corridors at District Court station, commuters will be able to book end-to-end journeys across the Pune Metro network through a single platform.

The metro operator said commuters can generate QR tickets through WhatsApp or purchase tickets at vending machines and station counters. Line 3 will support cash, UPI, debit cards and other digital payment methods. According to an official spokesperson, the system is designed to improve convenience, accessibility and integration with Pune's metro network.
