Re-exam to be held for 10 barred students at SPPU

Sakal Times

Pune: The ten students of Masters from Department of Marathi in Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) who were not permitted to appear for the examination due to low attendance will now be able to appear for a re-examination likely to be held soon.

The students had not fulfilled the criterion of having minimum of 75 per cent attendance. Hence, they were not allowed to attend the third semester examination. The students claimed they presented medical certificates to the administration yet they were not allowed to sit for the exam.

However, the varsity on Thursday released a circular stating that extra classes will be held for the students.

The circular states that the students had given a written appeal to Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar to reconduct the examination, to which the administration agreed positively.
