Regional meet for principals today

Pune: A regional educational conference has been organised by Deputy Director of Education (Pune Region) to guide principals and headmasters of all Zilla Parishad, private aided schools and junior colleges in Pune district on August 21.

The conference will cover aspects like changed syllabus, evaluation pattern, RTE Act implementation. The difficulties that the teachers face in carrying out the administrative chores would also be discussed.

State Education Commissioner Vishal Solanki would be inaugurating the conference. Gangadhar Mhamane, Education Director (Secondary and Higher Secondary), Sunil Magar, Director, Balbharti and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Sunil Chauhan, Education Director (Primary) will be present on the occasion.

The workshop would be held from 9 am to 4 pm, at Ganesh Kala Krida Kendra at Swargate. Magar would be guiding the teachers on the changed syllabus. Shivaji Tambe, former Education Director would be speaking about the continuous comprehensive assessment pattern of evaluation. Dinkar Temkar, State Deputy Director of Education (Primary) would be informing the teachers about the 25 per cent admissions under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act. 

The role that the principals can play in improving the merit of their students will be explained to the participants by Anil Gunjal, Assistant Education Inspector, Deputy Directorate of Education, Mumbai region.
