Rs 16 lakh cash stolen from ATM

Pune: An unidentified thief has been booked by Pimpri-Chinchwad police for stealing around Rs 16 lakh from an ATM in Khalumbre, Chakan, in the wee hours of Saturday.

The ATM was cut open by the thief with a gas cutter, between 1.30 am to 4 am, on Saturday. The incident took place at the Bank of Maharashtra ATM, where the thief stole total cash of Rs 15,94,100. Apart from this, the machine worth Rs three lakh was also damaged. 

Sachin Shivkaran Kalge (31), a resident of Thergaon, has lodged an FIR in this regard with Chakan police station. Police Sub-Inspector Pramod Kothare is further investigating the case.
