Sassoon’s annual research conference from tomorrow

Pune: Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) will host its 44th Annual Research Conference from Thursday. The two-day conference aims at enriching young doctors with new technological breakthrough and enhancing their research capabilities.
Speaking during a press interaction on Tuesday, Dean, Dr Ajay Chandanwale said that the department of radiology has organised this conference. 

“More than 1,200 delegates have registered for this conference from all over Maharashtra. More than 160 researchers will present their work in the form of papers and posters in this conference. The theme of this conference is ‘Organ Donation and Organ Transplant’. Various scientific sessions, symposia and panel discussions will be conducted on liver and kidney transplant from eminent experts in this field,” said Chandanwale.

He further informed that aim of this annual research society conference is to continuously update the medical fraternity with newer research and treatment modalities which can be applied in practice for the benefit of poor and needy patients. 

The 44th Annual Research Society Conference will be inaugurated by  Dr SN Pathan, former Vice-Chancellor, Nagpur University who will be the chief guest. Medical Journal of Western India will also be published. During the interaction, Dr Shefali Pawar, Head of Department (HoD), Radiology, said that the conference aims at taking up important issues like breast cancer, liver and kidney transplantation.

Dr Rajesh Umap, Dr Sachin Bagale, Dr Somnath Salgar and Dr Ibrahim Ansari were present.
