Pune: The ring leader of a high profile sex racket being operated from posh Koregaon Park, has been arrested by Pune city police.  The accused has been identified as  Pinto Maurishis alias Maurish Marshal Pinto, a native of Karnataka, who lived in Kasar Amboli in Paud. His three accomplices Krishna, Raju Sheth and Ishwari Prasad Bhatarai are on the run.

The sex racket was busted by the anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU) of Pune police on July 10. A total of nine women were rescued from clutches of sex racketeers who were operating from a row house in Gold Enclave society and a bungalow in Clover Garden society. The women were brought from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Lucknow and Delhi.  According to the police, the prostitution racketeers have agents in various cities and states who lure girls under pretext of giving them jobs and then trap them in prostitution. They used to charge thousands of rupees from customers and give some share to these girls and kept the major share with themselves.
