Mumbai: Sakal Media Group (SMG) launched its ‘Sakal Premiere Awards 2017’ at a grand function held in Mumbai at Ravindra Natyamandir on Thursday. Many celebrities associated with Marathi and Hindi film industry were present at the function. Many stars from Hindi cinema known for their deep commitment to social cause attended the event.

The title song for this award function was written by poet Kishor Kadam alias Saumitra and was sung by singer Milind Ingale. The Marathi films released between May 1, 2016, and April 30, 2017 were part of the competition for this award. The films which made a positive impact were specially mentioned during the event. Chief Editor of Sakal Media Group (SMG) Shriram Pawar, Director Operations Bhausaheb Patil, CEO Pradeep Dwivedi, CMO Krishna Menon, Chief Circulation Manager Dinesh Shetty, Unit Head Peter Das, Head of Entertainment Department Santosh Bhingarde, Saurabh Gadgil of PNG, Vaishnavi Jadhav of Ganaraj Association, Advocate Pandit Rathod of Landscapes and many others were present for the event.
