PUNE: The Research Foundation Park of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will be hosting the Innovation for Defence Excellence (iDEX) roadshow at the park on Saturday. 

As part of the roadshow, specific challenges faced by the defence forces will be highlighted, solutions invited and innovation related queries will be answered. 

The keynote speaker will be Defence Innovation Organization (DIO) Programme Director Vivek Rai. The event will also highlight the ongoing innovation activities of SPPU with the intent of forming a defence innovation hub.

It is an initiative by the Defence Ministry, which aims at creating an ecosystem fostering innovation and technology development in defence and aerospace. Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC) has taken this initiative further by supporting innovators, startups and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) commercialise products, develop prototypes and solutions relevant for national security.
