Start-up Marathon to start on Saturday

Pune: FundTonic with over 700 investors has organised Pune Start-up Marathon 2017 in the city on Saturday.

The event will see speakers, mentors and Angel Investors from across the globe, who will not only invest in start-ups but also ensure interventions for product development, business strategy and business development to accelerate scaling up of start-ups’ business.

The event will witness the launch of sector agnostic seed-funded global accelerator, a launch of seed funded healthcare-focused accelerator, an exchange programme to help scale Pune start-ups to ASEAN countries, Europe and more.

The chief guests for the marathon include founder, 5Fworld and Ex-Chairman, Nasscom Foundation, Ganesh Natarajan and Founder, Catfitex Special Forces (Indian Army) and National Security Guard, Lt Colonel (Retd) Rakesh Krishnan. Some of the other dignitaries at the event include Lead Advisor, SIDBI /World Bank, Sanjib Jha; Chairman, Atom Technology Ltd, Amarendra Sahoo; Senior President, Yes Bank, Ajay Desai; CEO, Globe Textiles India Ltd, Bhavin Parikh; CEO and MD, Sunburst Healthcare, Sujata Malik; Co-Founder, Autoline Industries, M Radhakrishnan; Head- Business, BillDesk,  Santanu Samanta and Co-Founder, Spinta Global Accelerator, Miten Mehta.  

Founder of FundTonic, Akshit Gupta said, “With the launch of our operations in the city’s suburbs, we expect a rise in the number of start-up applicants as well as investors for the Pune market.

“This year we plan to invest in at least five start-ups from Pune within six months.”
