SWaCH re-collection centre now in Aundh

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: SWaCH, a waste management cooperative, recently moved their re-collection centre from the Garbage Depot in Kothrud to old Aundh Ward office near Bremen Circle.

The re-collection centre began its functioning from February.

“Earlier, our office was at Kachra Depot but since a metro station is coming up there, it has been moved to different locations in the city including our centre which has moved to Aundh,” said Suchismita Pai of SwaCH.

Citizens can drop off old clothes, toys, books, bags - anything in good condition - at these re-collection centres which is then given to ragpickers and urban poor at a minimum cost.
