Talathi caught for accepting Rs 50k bribe

PUNE: Days after the Mulshi Tehsildar was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs one crore, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Thursday nabbed the Talathi of Bhugaon (Mulshi taluka) and Kotwal, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. 

They were arrested on Thursday afternoon. They had allegedly demanded the bribe for making changes in the 7/12 land extracts. The Talathi, Manisha Sarjerao Pawar (37) and Kotwal, Vithal Gulab Surve (37), have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Earlier, on December 29, 2018, ACB had arrested Mulshi Tehsildar Sachin Dongare.
