PUNE: In the 200th trap under the Pune range of the state anti-corruption bureau (ACB), the Tehsildar of Mulshi taluka was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs one crore on Saturday. The arrested accused has been identified as Sachin Mahadev Dongare (43), a resident of Lazy Rock society in Bavdhan.
A 63-year-old man had lodged a complaint against him. The complainant had approached the Mantralaya for registration of his name in the records of ancestral properties (about 12 acres land). The matter was sent to the Tehsildar for enquiry, who demanded the bribe to give favourable report and also help him in registration of 7/12 land extracts.
As the complainant was not willing to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. The bribe was demanded between December 14 and 19.
ACB officials said that after verification of the bribe, a trap was laid on Lavasa Road, about 3 km from Ghotawade phata, in Urwade village jurisdiction on Saturday. The police had put Rs 15 lakh in original currency notes and remaining were blank note size papers.
Dongare was caught red handed while accepting the bribe.
Superintendent of Police (ACB) Sandip Diwan, DySP Suhas Nadgouda supervised the team which included police inspectors Sanjay Patange and Surekha Gharge.
A few days ag, ACB had arrested lawyer Rohit Shende for allegedly accepting Rs 1.7 crore bribe for getting favourable order from deputy director (land records) in a land dispute case.
