Teltumbde grilled by cops for 7 hrs

Pune: Prof Anand Teltumbde was questioned for about seven hours by the Pune police on Thursday in connection with the Elgar Parishad case, as per the directions of the Bombay High Court.

Teltumbde, his wife and his lawyer appeared before investigating officer ACP Shivaji Pawar at his office in Swargate, at 10 am. He was questioned till 5.30 pm with a lunch break in between.
 
Teltumbde refused to comment, saying the matter is sub-judice and he is co-operating with the police as per the court’s directions.
  
The High Court is hearing his anticipatory bail application. On February 11, the HC had directed Teltumbde to appear before the investigating officer on February 14 and 18 and cooperate with the investigation till his plea is finally decided.
 
The next hearing on the bail application is scheduled for February 22.
