Pune: Three persons were killed, while two others sustained serious injuries when their bikes were hit by a speeding truck in Wadki, near Fursungi, on Friday.

The police identified the deceased persons as Someshwar Shankar Modak (44) of Wadki, Jalinder Bapu Gaikwad (18) and Navnath Raghunath Khilare (20), both residents of Dive in Purandar taluka. Modak’s wife Rupali (39) and daughter Sanika (16) are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hadapsar.
 
As per Loni Kalbhor police, Modak was riding the bike from Hadapsar towards Wadki, while Gaikwad and Khilare were going towards Dive. The truck going towards Hadapsar collided with the two bikes head on. The truck driver was arrested by the police.
