Pune: Officials from the Anti-Organised Crime Cell (West Region) of Pune city police Crime Branch have nabbed a notorious goon and claimed to have recovered three country-made pistols and 10 cartridges.

The arrested accused was identified as Santosh Vinayak Natu (42) of Maharshinagar. While patrolling in Karve Nagar, policemen Kailash Salunke and Ajay Uttekar received a tip-off that Natu would be in the area for selling pistols to criminals. Accordingly a trap was laid and he was arrested on September 28.

The police said there are six serious cases registered against him with various police stations. Earlier, the police had seized 19 pistols from his possession.
A magisterial court has remanded him in police custody till October 4.
