Pune: According to a recently issued GR,  the primary and secondary teachers in the state who have completed their qualifying service and are applying for senior and select pay scale will be required to attend workshops. 

The activity mentioned in the GR is part of the series of programmes organised by the State government from past two years to ensure that 100% children in the state get education and the school dropout rate till Std X is reduced to 5 per cent. 

The primary and secondary teachers who have completed their qualifying services of either 12 years or 24 years and are eligible for senior salary scale and select salary scale respectively are required to take this training.

The notification for the teachers to apply for the training was released recently and all teachers who are short-listed need to attend the 
workshop compulsorily.

The training is to be organised jointly by District Institute of Educational Continuous Professional Development (DIECPD) and State Council Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The workshop is meant to provide training to ensure that merit level in schools increases, reducing the number of failures.

Nand Kumar, Principal Secretary, State School Education Department said, “After completion of the training, only those teachers who belong to primary schools that have 'A' grade according to the parameters of advanced schools, and the secondary schools that have Std XI and X passing percentage above 80% are eligible for the higher pay scales.”
