Two Killed, Four Injured in Horrific Crash on Pune-Mumbai Expressway

Three vehicles collide near missing link route; traffic disrupted for nearly an hour; Two died on the spot, four others seriously injured

Pune, 1st June 2026: In a horrific crash on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway of two people lost their lives and four others seriously injured in the early hours of Monday. The accident occurred on the Mumbai-bound lane and involved three vehicles, a container truck, an Eicher tempo, and an Ertiga car.

According to preliminary information, the collision took place near the Missing Link section of the expressway. The impact was so severe that the Ertiga car was completely crushed, while the front portions of the container truck and the tempo were badly damaged.

Police said the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed. Efforts are currently underway to identify both the victims and the injured persons. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Following the accident, traffic movement on the Mumbai-bound lane came to a standstill for nearly an hour, leading to long queues of vehicles on the expressway. Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the crash and cleared the damaged vehicles to restore traffic flow.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Traffic on the expressway has now resumed and is moving normally.
