Two ramps linking Mother Teresa flyover now open

PIMPRI: Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Usha Dhore on Friday inaugurated two ramps connecting Saint Mother Teresa flyover at Empire Estate Colony in Chinchwad to provide closer access to Kalewadi, Wakad and Hinjawadi.

Each of the two ramps are 405 metres long and 5.05 metres wide. Construction of a staircase leading to Saint Mother Teresa flyover is still incomplete. The work of fixing paving blocks on the footpath near the flyover is also pending, causing hardship to pedestrians on the busy Old Pune-Mumbai Highway.

The inaugural function was attended by Leader of the House in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Eknath Pawar, Standing Committee Chairman Vilas Madigeri and local corporator Shailesh More.

Leader of the Opposition in the municipal corporation Vitthal Kate expressed his displeasure over omitting the name of Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar on the invitation card and thus violating the protocol.
