Vehicle thief honed skills by watching YouTube videos

Pune: Bharti Vidyapeeth police have arrested a 20-year-old vehicle thief on Saturday, who use to watch the videos of vehicle theft on YouTube to hone his stealing skills.

Police have identified the accused has Akash Kotwal, a native of Sillod in Aurangabad, who was presently residing at Katraj. Police have recovered three motorcycles and two laptops valued at Rs 1, 70,000 from him.

According to the information provided by Bharti Vidyapeeth police, Kotwal is an educated youth and used to take the help of YouTube videos on vehicle thefts to steal the two-wheelers. He also has vehicle theft cases registered against him in Beed and Aurangabad.

A week back, he was involved in stealing a motorcycle in Bharti Vidyapeeth police station area. A complaint was registered regarding the theft after which police initiated an investigation and managed to arrest the accused.
Police have registered a case of theft against the accused.
