Vermicompost plants to be set up by KCB at five locations

Pune: The Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) is planning to set up vermicompost plants at five locations in their jurisdiction for effective disposal of garbage.

Amol Jagtap, Chief Executive Officer of KCB, said, “Our health and sanitation department has identified the locations in the jurisdiction of the cantonment areas, including Sapras, Rajeevnagar, Range Hills, Bombay Engineering Group and Centre and bungalow areas for setting up this facility. About 22 tonnes of the garbage can be disposed of through this facility.”

He also mentioned that the KCB has been successfully running one such facility at Kasarwadi from last two years.
