PIMPRI: The election administration and police authorities have geared up for conducting voting in three Assembly constituencies in Pimpri Chinchwad on Monday.

The polling authorities, as well as political parties and contestants, have made special efforts to increase voting percentage on Monday.

The rain spell during the past few days has posed a challenge for persuading people to go out for voting.

The polling authorities in Pimpri, Chinchwad and Bhosari constituencies in the city have distributed voter slips to voters at their doorsteps. Those who have not received the slips may collect these at the entrance of their voting centres.

Those voters who do not have voter identification may produce at the polling centres other identification proofs such as passport, driving licence, PAN Card or bank passbook having photographs.

Chinchwad Assembly seat in the city has 2,75,486, the highest number of voters.

Bhosari seat has 2,36,853 voters, while Pimpri reserved seat has 1,84,713 voters.

Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has jurisdiction over eight Assembly constituencies in the city and Pune rural areas.

Besides the three Assembly seats in the city, other Assembly constituencies are Maval, Khadakwasla, Bhore, Vadgaon Sheri and Khed-Alandi. There are altogether 417 polling stations in this area.

Altogether, 4,500 police officers and other employees have been deployed on election duty by the police commissionerate.
