PUNE: Noted actor Vikram Gokhale on Saturday visited the Yerawada Central Prison to interact with the prison inmates. The interaction was part of ‘Prerna Path’, a prisoner rehabilitation and reformation project under which prison inmates are motivated by several celebrities and noted personalities so that they are rehabilitated back in the society as reformed persons.

Speaking at the interaction meet, Gokhale said that criminals are not born as criminals and they get into crime due to some unwanted situation. “One who knows the religion of humanity is far more respected than an evil mind,” said Gokhale.

Superintendent of Yerwada Prison, UT Pawar, Deputy Inspector General (Prison) Swati Sathe, Dr Milind Bhoi of Bhoi Pratisthan were present at the interaction.

Bhoi Pratisthan along with Adarsh Mandal has been organising such events from past two years under the ‘Prerna Path’ initiative.

Founder President of Bhoi Pratishthan, Dr Milind Bhoi, said the project plan includes lectures, interactions, cultural programmes, counselling of prisoners and several other plans. Dr Bhoi announced that soon, prisoners will have access to ‘e-library.’
