VS Rao is new chief of CGST Pune Zone

PUNE: The 1987 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Vasa Seshagiri Rao has taken over the charge of Chief Commissioner of Central Goods and Service Tax, Central Excise and Customs, Pune Zone. 

VS Rao has experience of more than 32 years in implementation of Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax, Narcotics and Intelligence Wing (DRI) of CBIC. He had a stint of five years as Commissioner of Customs in Pune.

As Chief Commissioner of CGST, Central Excise and Customs, Rao will be exercising control over the Commissionerates of Pune and Goa Customs, CGST Pune 1, 2, Kolhapur and Goa, as well as, three appeals Commissionerates and two audit Commissionerates functioning in the Zone.
