Wakad police arrest 3, recover 25 motorcycles

Pune: The Wakad police has arrested three bike thieves including two minors on Monday who used to steal motorcycles for the purpose of joy rides. The police have recovered 25 motorcycles from them.

The accused were identified as Keshav Shete, 34, a resident of Beed who along with two minors has stolen 25 vehicles in Pune and Beed.

According to the Wakad police, on the basis of a tip off from the informer, the police initially arrested two minors from Wakad who during interrogation admitted stealing 18 vehicles from the various areas of Wakad, Pimpri, Dighi and Pimpri. 

The minors then informed the police about their mentor Shete who was later arrested by police from Beed.

The police informed that the trio used to steal away motorcycles for leisure and used to leave them on the road after they ran out of petrol.
