Pune: A youth has been arrested for allegedly harassing a 21-year-old woman by sending her obscene messages and also misusing her social media accounts. The accused, Roshan Sitharam Nayak, who hails from Udipi in Karnataka and stays in Pune city, allegedly hacked the victim’s Amazon account and ordered condom packets on different addresses. 

Police said that the woman hails from Odisha and works with a private firm in Koregaon Park. He had been harassing her since 2014 when she came to Pune for higher studies. 

The accused has also sent several obscene messages to her friends and harassing her. 

After she lodged a complaint with Koregaon Park police station, an FIR was registered against Nayak for offences under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act. 

A magistrate court on Saturday remanded him to police custody till 
November 20.
