Youth drowns in Chakan quarry

PUNE: A 17-year-old youth drowned in a stone quarry in Moi village near Chakan on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Gautam Sudhir Nishthur, a resident of Jadhavwadi, Chikhali.

According to NDRF, the incident took place around 10.45 am. He had gone for a swim along with his friends. Local officials tried to recover his body but were unsuccessful. NDRF’s deep diving team was requisitioned and during search operations, his body was recovered by them on Friday.
