‘No factionalism will be tolerated in BJP’

Sakal Times

Pune: Guardian Minister Girish Bapat warned his party men that factionalism will not be tolerated in the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Bapat was speaking at the press conference. Last week over 40 corporators from BJP attended a meeting called by BJP MP Sanjay Kakade where they requested Kakade to intervene in 24X7 water supply scheme and other important issues pertaining to the civic body.

In response to a query on rising factionalism, Bapat said, “Groupism and factionalism are not tolerated in BJP and will not be tolerated in the future too.”

Earlier, due to intervention by Kakade the tender for 24X7 water supply scheme was cancelled and a fresh tender was issued by PMC as per the chief minister’s directives. But the Kakade faction has objected to the tender that was issued now. Kakade has given a letter to PMC administration regarding this.  Over 40 corporators attended a meeting at Kakade’s residence and requested more intervention in the matter.

Meanwhile, it is being widely discussed in political circles that the Kakade faction is active in the PMC. On the backdrop of this, Bapat has given this warning without taking any names.
